Lisa graduated from Canadian Therapeutic College in 2004. She treats an array of ailments with traditional Swedish Massage techniques and additional training in Deep Tissue Therapy, Myofascial Release, Acupressure, Pregnancy Massage and Thermal Palms (which similar to hot stone). She also incorporates more current modalities such as Cupping and Kinesio Tapping into treatments when indicated.
After witnessing the birth of her nieces, Lisa became a Certified Birth Doula (or Labour Support Provider). She believes that bodywork of any kind during pregnancy helps to alleviate discomfort, and that as a result, women become more body-aware during their pregnancy and into the labour experience.
As an alternative to massage, Lisa is a Certified Bowen Therapist. Bowen is a hands-on therapy with very simple yet profound techniques to address acute or chronic pain. Lisa is also currently studying the pioneering works of James Waslaski in deep pain-free orthopedic massage, pain management, sports injury and sports enhancement treatments.
Growing up as an active individual, primarily as a dancer, and having a background in Pilates, Lisa understands the importance of discipline, body awareness and believes in preventative care. Whether you are an adolescent athlete, weekend warrior, suffer from repetitive strain or a retiree trying to resolve chronic pain, Lisa will do her best to educate, and help you achieve balance. Knowledge is Power!
